Made carnitas
Carnitas:
31/2-4lbs of boneless pork butt(cut them into thick smaller pieces)
1lb of lard
1bay leaf
3large garlic cloves(fresh)
1/3 of orange juice from 1 large orange
1 8oz bottle of Coca Cola room temperature (make sure it’s made from Mexico because they use cane sugar not corn syrup)
2tsp of salt(add more to your liking)
1/3 cup of evaporated milk
1large pot
Take your lard and heat up your pot on Medium heat, than You chop up your meat into smaller but thick pieces. Once your lard has melted add the meat in slowly. Make sure all your meat is submerged into the lard. Let that sit for 30 minutes. Than flip your meat and leave on that side for an additional 30 minutes. Totaling 60 minutes
Now it’s time to add in all the ingredients listed above. Once you add them all in give it a nice stir to mix up ingredients. Make sure you put your leftover squeezed orange into the pot to add more flavor. Let that cook for 60 minutes. Give it a stir about every 20 minutes. Now your meat should be nice and tender with some crisp. (I made mine extra crispy)
